Description
Description
This high-performance OM4 multimode SC to SC duplex patch lead is engineered for high-speed network backbone and patching applications within data centres, telecommunication rooms, and enterprise networks. It provides a reliable, low-loss connection between equipment with SC ports, supporting next-generation Ethernet protocols and ensuring a scalable network infrastructure.
Key features
OM4 50/125µm multimode fibre: This laser-optimised fibre supports high-speed applications, including 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 550 metres and 40Gb/100Gb Ethernet over short to medium distances. It provides ample bandwidth for demanding network environments and is fully backward compatible with legacy 50/125 multimode (OM2/OM3) equipment.
SC to SC connectors: Features robust SC (Subscriber Connector) plugs on both ends, providing a secure and reliable push-pull connection. The 2.5mm zirconia ceramic ferrules ensure high-precision fibre alignment and consistent performance.
Duplex design: The two-strand, zip-cord style construction supports simultaneous, bidirectional data flow for full-duplex communication.
Ultra physical contact (UPC) polish: The UPC finish provides a superior, low-reflection connection, ensuring excellent signal integrity.
Low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) jacket: Constructed with an LSZH jacket, this cable is flame-retardant and safe for indoor use in confined spaces by reducing the emission of toxic and corrosive smoke in the event of a fire.
Aqua or violet jacket: The industry-standard aqua jacket colour simplifies identification as an OM4 multimode fibre, though some manufacturers use violet (often labelled “Erika Violet”).
100% factory tested: Each patch lead is individually tested and certified to ensure optimal performance and reliability out of the box.
Typical applications
Data centres: For connecting servers, switches, and storage area networks (SANs) in high-density environments.
Enterprise networks: For high-speed connections between switches, routers, and patch panels.
Backbone applications: For providing high-bandwidth connections within and between buildings on a campus.
